Following his recent appearance on the Top Of The Pops 1977 documentary, JJ is back on the BBC again this week. He features on BBC1's The One Show this Thursday the 2nd Of February which starts at 7pm. We will post an iPlayer link once it is live...

La Folie part two: tour diary
Exactly 30 years ago today, the band played the first gig of a 17 date British tour-coinciding with the legendary chart run of Golden Brown.

Giants: first album review
'Giants is a triumph (in every possible way)'... So ends the first review of the band's forthcoming album which has just been posted on journalist and band-ally John Robb's excellent Louder Than War music site.
Giving the album a nine out of ten score, the glowing review uses terms like '100% pure Stranglers' and 'a late period masterpiece'. It is an incredibly positive review and bodes well for the release...

Giants unleashed in the Spring
Almost 35 years since their debut LP Rattus Norvegicus, the band release their eagerly anticipated 17th studio album Giants in the Spring.
In true Stranglers' style, Giants displays both the variety and distinctive sound that the band have become known for throughout their career so far. The album opens with Another Camden Afternoon which is the band's first instrumental for over 20 years. There are nine other diverse tracks including the recent live favourite Freedom Is Insane and even a tango entitled Adios. The full album tracklisting is:

The album will be distributed in the UK by Universal and Edel in Europe with other territories to follow. Giants' planned release date is early March although we will give you the confirmed date as soon as possible. As well as download, three physical formats of the album will be available. Alongside the standard CD release, there will be a limited double pack CD including a recording of the Saturday acoustic set from November's Weekendinblack convention. A real treat is in store for all the vinyl junkies out there as Giants will also be released on a limited edition vinyl LP. Acoustic In Brugge CD
In February, the band's acoustic Themeninblackinbrugge CD is being repackaged and re-released with different artwork under the new title Acoustic In Brugge. It is available to preorder on Amazon here. Please note that this contains the same actual recording as the original release.
Roundhouse sold out!
We have had confirmation that the band's March London date at the Camden Roundhouse is totally sold out. Apologies if you missed out on a ticket for the gig. All other dates on the tour are selling well...

Happy New Year!
2012 is set to be a packed year for the band...
Their eagerly anticipated new studio album Giants will be unleashed on the world in the spring. We hope to have full details about Giants very soon including full tracklisting and cover image. Watch this space...
The band have a busy schedule of live dates across Britain and Europe throughout March and April. There are rumours of gigs further off the beaten track as well.
